Jim, Jack Gary and I rode to MSU together most every day for a couple of years. We played a lot of golf together. I appreciated him taking me to Windyke where his family was a member. We played softball for a couple of years as well. He was one of the nicest guys I had ever known. I regret that we drifted apart a long time ago but I remember him so well. He loved golf as much as anyone I have ever known and I’ve played competitively for a many years so I know a lot of people who are passionate about golf but none more than Jim.I am deeply saddened at Jim’s passing. I want to express my sincerest condolences to Jim’s family for your loss. The world is a better place because of his presence here. He was one of those people who would make a difference in the lives of others. May God bless and keep you all.

Jim worked with me ONCE. And when we were done he swore he would never work with me again.In my construction business I bought materials from Jim to build a tool area at a manufacturing company about 3 miles north of Covington, TN.It was a 60' x 40' area that had to be assembled and anchored to the concrete floor.Asked Jim if he wanted to work with me to assemble it…to make a little extra money.He agreed, but I bet he wished he hadn’t.You see, I work really hard…non-stop…until I’m done.And this project was supposed to be done in 1 day.So Jim and I drove to Covington and arrived at 7am.We got everything laid out and started working.Jim hadn’t worked with me before, so he didn’t know that I didn’t take breaks during the day until I knew I could finish.About 2:00pm Jim comes to me and asks when we are going to lunch, to which I responded, “When we’re finished”!About an hour later we were at a stopping point so we left the jobsite and headed into Covington to get something to eat.We were both worn out, but enjoyed getting a bite to eat (I treated because he worked so hard!) and then we went back to the job site to finish up.Around 7pm we had substantially completed the project so we packed up and headed home.On our trip home, Jim promised me that he would never work with me again because I was a mad man!He was true to his word.I’ll miss Jim’s laugh and wit. He was a special friend and an awesome leader of his family. He adored Nicole and loved his kids with all of his heart.Jim was my friend and my brother in Christ.He’s singing with the angels right now and eternally praising our SAVIOR!
