Funeral services will be conducted At the church of the resurrection on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The family will accept friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Memorial Park cemetery. Teresita Cela Lamothe Murchison was born on November 20, 1949 in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. She was one of two daughters born to Dr. George and Maria Lamothe. Due to the rise of communism in Cuba Teresita and her family fled to the United States to start a new life of freedom in which she honored by joining and serving with distinction in the United States Air Force. Following an honorable discharge she joined the ranks of the city of Memphis Police Department where she worked in handling confidential reports until she met and fell in love with her husband of 28 years Captain Gordon Murchison Jr. After marriage and leaving the police department she had one son Michael Murchison. She ran a successful full-time childcare business for nearly 20 years and many of those children now grown still to this day call her “Mama Terry”. Following retirement and the death of her husband she fell ill and never truly recovered. She was a person that was full of life and could light up a room with just an entrance. Her laugh was contagious and she loves with all of her heart. She was a devout Catholic and follower of Christ until her death. She leaves behind one sister, Margarita, One child Michael and his wife Karen, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
