CHANGE OF SERVICE DATE MAY 25, 2022 Susan Camille McNeely Nicholas, 73, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022 after an almost twenty year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Nicholas, two sons, Jeff Nicholas (Libby), and Justin Nicholas (Diana), and two sisters Josie Walker (Ron) and Pam Williams (Brian). She leaves behind her five grandchildren, Ashlyn Nicholas, Elaina Nicholas, Austin Nicholas, Hudson Nicholas and Avery Nicholas. She was predeceased by her father, Eugene “Buddy” Monroe McNeely, Jr., her mother, Camille “Bobby” McNeely, and her brother, Eugene Monroe McNeely, III. Susan was raised on the family farm outside of Marion, Arkansas. She attended Southwestern (Rhodes College) where she met the love of her life, Kevin, to whom she was lovingly united in marriage for over 50 years. She also attended Memphis State University and obtained her Masters. During her career, she served as an educator, therapist, and business owner. She belonged to the Chief Piomingo chapter of the D.A.R. and was a sustaining member of Les Passes. She enjoyed reading, knitting, scrapbooking, and holiday decorating, but her favorite pastime was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Family and friends are grateful for her faith in God’s eternal promise of salvation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 25 at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. all in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park funeral Home.
