Monnie Hawkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Monnie Mae Hawkins, 91, of Germantown, passed away on Wednesday January 29th, 2020 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown hospital after a short illness. She was born in Arlington, TN on April 27, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents: James Robert and Floy Mae Boswell Hawkins, her siblings: William (Ava) Hawkins, Mary Allen, Alton (Ellen) Hawkins & AB (Pat) Hawkins, John Erskine Hawkins and a niece, Amy Hawkins. Ms. Hawkins is survived by nieces and nephews: Chris(Richard) Eichner of Franklin, NC, Sharon(Kurt) of Otto, NC, Bob (Elena) Hawkins of Indianapolis, IN, Patti Abernathy of Shannon, MS, Frances (Tully) Noe of Bartlett, TN, Abby (Greg) Underwood of Fayetteville, TN, Jay (Carrie) Hawkins of Huntsville, AL & Camille (Will) Hester of Fayetteville, TN; by several great nieces and nephews and many cousins; and by a dear friend in her final years, Marilyn (Tor) Storkerson. The family would like to thank all the staff, volunteers and visitors at Memphis Jewish Home who cared for Ms. Hawkins the last 8 years of her life. Visitation will be held from 2pm-4pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life memorial reception will follow at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
