Mary Jo Hutchinson

October 4, 1936 - December 13, 2021

Mary Jo Olivi Hutchinson passed away on Monday December 13. She was born in Shelby, MS to Theresa Reginelli Olivi and Richard Olivi. She graduated from Shelby High School and attend Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. She moved to Memphis, TN and worked as the Office Manager for Memphis Linen & Supply and later in life for Steinmart but her most important role was a loving Wife and Mother. She married Edward Lawrence (Larry) Hutchinson and was a devoted mother to William Matthew Hutchinson. Commitment to family was a hallmark of her life. She was a volunteer at St. Dominic School for Boys and served as President of Mother’s Club where her son attended. She was an active member of Madonna Circle and served as Treasurer, Secretary and an active volunteer for many years serving the community of Memphis. She attended Holy Rosary Church for decades and was a volunteer supporting the Church’s efforts. Mary Jo was loved by so many and was known for her faith in God, being so friendly and welcoming, and her unique ability to find a connection with almost anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, and her sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Sonny Nassar of Shelby, MS. She is survived by her cherished son William Matthew Hutchinson of Memphis, five sisters and one brother – Regina (Fred) Scruggs and Gloria Marascuilo of Memphis, TN, Ann (Ben) Bailey and Ben (Annette) Olivi of Cleveland, MS, and Margaret (Robert) Loper of Arcola MS as well as countless godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who all loved her dearly. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 20 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church (4851 Park Avenue), with burial immediately following at Memorial Park and a reception at the Holy Rosary.
