May 25, 1978 - March 18, 2022
Joseph Paul Palazolo of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away March 18 unexpectedly. He was a devoted husband and father to his wife Mari and his children Josephine and Paul Michael and his beloved dog Yogi. He also leaves behind his parents Paul and Janie Palazolo, sister Erin Bronson (Tommy) nieces and nephew (Thomas, Hannah, Meredith and Abbey), aunt Elaine Keeton (Jimmy), cousin Nicki Torres (Danny), his in-laws Stephen Smith and Rosalinda Melena, and step daughters Isabelle and Hannah Byrd. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Virginia Palazolo and James and Virginia Wardell, aunt Margaret Ramsey, cousin Bryan Ramsey and his older sister Amber Palazolo. Joe grew up in Memphis and graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He then attended the University of Memphis. He was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers and could not have been happier when his Atlanta Braves won the World Series this year. He leaves for his family to treasure his love of Phish and the Grateful Dead, the dice that spun the magical games of Dungeons and Dragons, the Nerf guns that created epic fun in his backyard, and the sweet spirit that always found the good. Joseph was very loyal to the friends he shared many years of life's ups and downs with: Darryl Bolin, Keith Boykin, Theo Brown, Lynn Jourdan, and Elizabeth Ann Pitts. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning March 24th at 10:00AM with memorial service to follow at 11:00AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. A reception will follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
