Ivy Green, age 72, was born on January 13, 1949 in Memphis, TN, to Martin and Mary Barringer and passed away on March 31, 2021, at her home in Eads, TN. Ivy attended Treadwell High School and was very active in many school activities. She was a Cheerleader, was voted Girl of the Month and ‘Friendliest Girl’ in the Hall of Fame her Senior year. After graduating from Treadwell in 1967, Ivy went on to apply her skills at Anderson, Clayton Cotton Co., Towns & Co. and Varsity Spirit. In 2011 Ivy finally realized her dream of owning and managing her own restaurant when she opened Ivy’s Place. Ivy retired in 2013 and was an incredible homemaker. Ivy is survived by her husband, Lennie Green, and her children: Shaun Green, Kelly Green, Becca Horne and her son-in-law, Jay Horne. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren: Ainsley and Kylie Grant. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Martin Barringer. Ivy bids farewell to her six siblings: Mary Jane Huggins, Patricia Halihan, Diane Lawrence, Sonny Barringer, Sylvia Wilson and Billie January. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 9 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 11:30 am in the South Hall at Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Road in Cordova.
