Harley Nicole Sykes
January 9, 2006 - October 31, 2021
Harley Nicole Sykes, 15, of Monroe, Louisiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 31, 2021. She was born in Monroe on January 9, 2006 and was a student at Ouachita High School. Harley passed away after a courageous battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Graph Verses Host Disease (ALL/GVHD) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was surrounded by her immediate family and the valiant medical team that battled with her and for her over the last 2.5 years. One of Harley’s favorite scriptures was Romans 8:28: “… all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Through this battle, Harley was blessed in many ways; ways that allowed her to create a legacy of faith, love, courage, strength, and inspiration packed into one short little life. As she would say … “all glory to God.” Harley is survived by her mother, Ragan Bailey; her father, Richard Sykes; her siblings, Madison Sykes, Sadie Sykes, JD Jones, and Ricky Sykes; her maternal grandparents and great grandparents, Christi and L.W. “Pete” Bailey, and Sharon and Albert Fields; her paternal grandparents, Brenda and Rick Janzen; her “favorite” uncles, aunts, and many cousins. She is also survived by her church family, the members of Grace Pointe and the “HUB Squad” youth group in Monroe, LA; her St. Jude family; and the many friends that loved and supported her. Harley’s “Celebration of Life” will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Grace Pointe Church, Monroe, LA; visitation begins 3:00 pm; service begins 4:00 pm
