Doris Ann Denley

Doris was born in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Messick High School in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee- Memphis College of Nursing in 1961. Doris met Garland while in nursing school and they married on June 18, 1961. Devoted wife of Garland, Doris was the loving mother of Diane (preceded in death), Vivian (Wayne), and Gary (Suzanne). Doris was the sweetest and most supportive grandmother ("MeMe") to Hunter, Victoria, and Lexie. Her family was always her highest priority and greatest pleasure. Doris was a faithful Christian woman who whole-heartedly loved the Lord, diligently studied her Bible and enjoyed her daily devotionals. She was most recently studying the book "Exploring Bible Prophecy From Genesis to Revelation." Doris never missed an opportunity to celebrate; she was well known for her exceptional cooking and her ability to prepare a feast for any holiday, family party, or event. She was an accomplished calligrapher and ceramics artist, and many of her creations are enduring family treasures. Doris will be so painfully missed, and we will never forget her. The family will received friends Tuesday, May 17 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at Germantown Baptist Church, 9450 Poplar Ave, Germantown, Tennessee 38139 . Services will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Southwoods, 5485 Hacks Cross Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38125.
