Claudia Leona Tosh Strickland

Claudia T. Strickland died on May 5, 2022 at Kirby Pines Manor. She was born on June 15, 1927 in Crenshaw, MS. Her parents were Albert F. Tosh and Lottie Glenn Tosh Haas (both deceased). She graduated from Southside High School in Memphis, TN. Claudia married Thomas D. Strickland Sr. (deceased). They had 2 children - Thomas D. Strickland Jr. (Joan) of Germantown and Gail Roberts (deceased Feb.4, 2022) (Randy) of Phoenix, AZ. Claudia has three grandchildren - Amanda Rice (Jason), Meredith Strickland, and Gretchen Nunnery (Michael). She has 4 great grandchildren - Madeline Rice, Matthew Rice, Cody Nunnery and Zoey Nunnery. Dorsey and Claudia built their home in 1973. Decorating the home was her favorite pastime. She worked in their garden. She loved to prepare meals for family gatherings. She and Dorsey played bridge with friends. She was an excellent cook specializing in desserts. She made special chocolate cakes and coconut bunny cakes that everyone loved. Also, Claudia attended Colonial Park Methodist Church. She was a member of Fideles Sunday School Class. She helped plan many events, cooked food and decorated the tables. The family is deeply grateful for the love, concern and caring support from the Kirby Pines staff and Crossroads Hospice staff. Visitation Services will be held May 10, 2022 at 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 with burial immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Crossroads Hospice, The American Cancer Society and Colonial Park Methodist Church.
