Bernice M. Boysen Procopio

Bernice M. Boysen Procopio was born in Houston, TX on September 14, 1928 and entered her Heavenly home December 6, 2020. Her family rejoices that she is at peace with her heavenly Father. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, more recently at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Memphis. She grew up in Houston, TX and graduated from Texas Lutheran College in San Marcos, TX teaching at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in San Antonio, TX before being employed by Exxon Mobil Oil company in Houston. She moved to Kerrville, TX after retirement and then to Memphis in 2011 to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Procopio, her parents, Albert Milton Boysen, Sr. and Minnie Marie Legde Boysen and both her siblings, Elise Laverne Schmitt and Reverend Albert Milton Boysen Jr. She was a well-loved aunt by Dawn Schmitt of Winter Park, FL, Scott Schmitt (Charlotte) of Plano, TX and Denise Schmitt of Irving, TX, Steven Boysen (Lisa) of Bartlett, TN, Michael Boysen (Gayle) of Bartlett, TN and Christopher Boysen (Lisa) of Lakeland, TN as well as sister-in-law Patricia Boysen of Cordova, TN. Her love and colorful personality will be missed but we are grateful that she is once again "living it up" with those who have preceded her. Due to Covid, a graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5568 Poplar Avenue on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 am. Entering through the front gate on Poplar Avenue, guests can follow the white arrows to get to the gravesite. Memorials can be sent to Christ the King Lutheran Church Building Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
