Ann Kellum Ballard Loeffel, 84 joined souls with her beloved husband Frank J. Loeffel Jr. in eternal paradise on Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born July 20, 1933 in Memphis TN to Thelma Johnson Ballard and James T. Ballard of Dyersburg and Henning, TN. Ann was active in Ecumenical Services at St. Joseph Catholic Church and School. She dedicated her time and talent making and tending to Banners, was a School Crossing Guard, served at the parish soup kitchen, and provided Eucharist to the home bound. Ann had a knack for antiques, painting, an art for talking, an unforgettable laugh, and a love for helping those in need. She brought smiles and laughter to everyone she met and will always be remembered for her humorous personality. She was preceded by sisters, Betty Margret Ballard McCullar and Joy Theresa Ballard Apple. She leaves behind a brother, Jim Ballard; daughters, Karen Loeffel, Lisa Loeffel, Danielle Loeffel; grandchildren, Christopher Loeffel, Kelly Brownell Menster, Eric Brownell and five great- grandchildren. Fr. Thomas Kirk, of the Diocese of Memphis will preside at a Memorial Service and Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 21, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:45 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with interment following at Calvary Cemetery. After interment, family and friends are invited to Coletta’s restaurant on 1063 S. Parkway E. to share a meal and celebrate Ann’s life. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
