Sincere sympathy and prayers for John’s family. I have such good, fun memories of our time together at Harding, especially with our social clubs Fraters and Tofebt. John was master at bringing levity to any situation we found ourselves in. It is an honor to be able to call him a friend. He will not be forgotten. Sherry Patrie, North Canton, Ohio
Sincere sympathy and prayers for John’s family. I have memories of such good times at Harding that involved Fraters and Tofebt, and John always bringing levity to whatever situation we found ourselves. It is an honor to have been a friend of John. Blessed to have been a classmate of John’s at Harding Academy from elementary through high school. Prayers for his wonderful sister, Carol and sweet niece, Addie! Love and hugs- Jackie Perkins
I was very saddened to hear of John’s passing. John was a very good friend. We always had such a good time together while at Harding and later when we lived together as he was getting his masters degree. We used to just drive around the Arkansas countryside as we drank our Frozen D’s shakes! I was thankful that at least we spoke last year just after our birthday (John and I shared the same birthday 2 years apart).
John was a special friend to so many of us there at Harding University. He was loved by many and brighten a room with his smile. While at Harding, John gave me a small gift one year at Christmas time….it was a Christmas ornament that was in essence a miniature story book – a story about Snoopy and Charlie Brown. On the first page of the miniature book, John wrote me a note and signed his name. …….And yes, even after all these years, I still hang the ornament on my Christmas tree each year and think of all those wonderful memories of John…..and of his friends from Fraters (his social club).
John was like a brother even though it has been few years since we last talked. He was a club brother of mine in Frater Sodalis at Harding University. We both loved to bowl and spent many an evening at league bowling. He was always an upbeat person to be around. I am saddened that I did not reconnect with him sooner.
I’m going to miss John calling me “Shelly” and picking at me while playing dominoes at Renee and Regina’s. I would leave it up to Paris to get back at John on my behalf. See you later John.
