Mrs. Hazel Davis Rolen, 95, died on July 28, 2010.
Mrs. Rolen was preceded in death by her husband William A. Rolen, Sr., a son, William A. Rolen, Jr. and two siblings. She is survived by her son, Ronald P. Rolen and his wife Kay, grandsons William A. Rolen III, Louis Edward Rolen, granddaughters Mary Margaret Rolen and Molly Rolen, and five great-grandchildren.
Born in 1915, Mrs. Rolen was raised in Memphis and graduated from Whitehaven High School. One of her first jobs was as a secretary to E.H. Crump in the mid-1930's. She began a very successful career as a realtor in the 1950's, eventually opening her own realty company, Laurelwood Realty, in the early 1980's, which she operated until her retirement.
Hazel's incredible and distinct sense of humor will be missed by her many friends and family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:30 at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave., with funeral services at 2:30 and interment immediately following at Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Mrs. Rolen's church, Kingsway Christian, 7887 Poplar Ave, Germantown, TN, 38138.
