Dr. Thomas B. Bechtel, 70, passed away July 25, 2010. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was an only child of Charles C. and Kathryn W. Bechtel. He received a bachelor's in political science from Colorado State University and was a three time All American swimmer at the University of Michigan. He received a master's in education from the University of Memphis and a doctorate in education with a specialty in industrial arts from the University of Tennessee. He leaves his wife, Judy; children, Charles T. Bechtel and Kathryn B. Fox; daughter-in-law, Annie Bechtel; and son-in-law, Matthew Fox; grandchildren, Catherine & Brooke Bechtel and Jacob & Rachel Fox. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he loved greeting people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and the antique business. There will be a memorial service at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29 at Second Presbyterian Church in the chapel. Visitation will follow the service in the Salmon Room at the church. There will be a private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
